Panjim, Betim and Mandovi Yacht Experiences
Panjim and Betim sit on opposite sides of the Mandovi and offer a useful starting point for understanding Goa from the water. River journeys may pass beneath the Panjim bridges and open views towards Divar and Chorao, with city, estuary and island landscapes changing as the boat moves.
On one Faodail journey, the yacht departed from the Betim–Panjim area, cruised for about an hour and anchored in the river for about an hour. That experience is shared as orientation rather than a fixed itinerary: route, duration, anchoring, passenger limits, food, alcohol and pet permissions depend on the operator, vessel, season and weather. Prices can vary substantially, so request a current written quotation and confirm inclusions before paying.
Ask whether the trip is private or shared, where boarding takes place, what safety equipment is carried, whether a toilet or shaded area is available and what happens if weather prevents departure. Pet-friendly trips must be confirmed with the operator in advance.
The Mandovi is part of Goa’s living environment. Carry everything back to shore and leave no bottle, wrapper, cigarette end or other waste in the river or sea. Caring for the water protects wildlife, local livelihoods and the experience for everyone who follows.
